The new PTA board for David’s elementary school met tonight. It was an informal meeting that was more of a "getting to know you" get together.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again…I am really impressed with our PTA…and not just because I am part of it…LOL! I hang out on the internet a lot and am part of several message boards and I read some of the things others say about their PTA (or equivalent), and some of what I have read has really raised my eyebrows! It makes me very thankful to be at Lummis, where the PTA works hard to provide a wonderful atmosphere for everyone…teachers, students, and parents. I’m thankful that we live in an area that is considered "fortunate", because we have parents and businesses that are willing to donate their time, goods, and/or services to the PTA and Lummis. I’m thankful to be among a wonderful, caring group of ladies who are equally devoted to Lummis and volunteer countless hours making the teachers, kids, parents, and support staff feel appreciated. It is good to be part of this group and I will enjoy every minute of it.

Glad to hear there are PTA’s out there that are good. Ours has a terrible reputation and it just seems to get worse each year. A friend of mine took it over two years ago and we though WHEW until she gained a Large and In charge complex. I won’t go help with ours. I just help in other places that are needed instead.
