I did get to go to the Bainbridge Island Studio Tour today. I had originally planned to go yesterday, but that’s the nice thing about vacations…you are not tied to a schedule! So I went today! Here is a link to the info about the tour! I enjoyed going to the various studios and getting to know my way around Bainbridge a little better. Although, tonight Porter took us on a detailed tour of Bainbridge and my Sunday afternoon driving from studio to studio barely scratched the surface. I’ve decided I could live here very easily!!! Maybe someday, the opportunity will present itself and that will become a reality.
Porter is doing really well. I honestly wondered what kind of state the house would be in. The house was in great shape, and there was actual food in the refrigerator and pantry, which I was pleased to see. I talk to him a lot, and knew he was doing well, but it was nice to see confirmation…it put my mind at ease. It pleases me that he is so open in talking about Wendy and we’ve laughed a lot this last few days while recalling stories of her. Porter does get quiet and sad periodically, and invariably when asked, he says, "I’m just missing Wendy", then we all get kind of quiet and sad with him. It’s all part of the normal grieving process, but that doesn’t make it any easier.

I’ve talked with Brian while we’ve been here and have been saddened to learn that his sister is battling pills and gambling. Please say a prayer for my in-laws who are beside themselves with grief and worry. Please also pray for my niece and nephew, that they can cope with this information and situation. Please also pray for my sister-in-law, that she hits bottom sooner rather than later and beats this for once and for all.
