Renewed Faith

After dropping off David at school, I opted to drive thru Starbucks for some coffee.  While waiting at the stop light just before Starbucks, a young woman in a new model Mercedes came up next to me…she seemed to be in a hurry!!!

So the light turned green and Mercedes-girl actually squeals her tires taking off from the stop.  Then cuts me off in her haste to get to the Starbucks drive-thru.  Needless to say, I was pissed!  So what did I do…well, I only left about a half inch of space between her bumper and mine while we waded through the queue…I probably had a scowl on my face too!  I guess she got the hint that I was pissed off, because when it was my turn at the window, the Starbucks gal says to me, "You order was paid for by the woman in front of you and she apologizes for cutting you off on the way into the parking lot".

I was in total shock!  Talk about changing your perspective.  Here is this young woman, driving a brand-new model Mercedes with a license plate that says "LV DOC", has a huge rock on her left hand (I saw it when she was getting her coffees), and she felt remorse for what had taken place 5 minutes earlier.  So much so that she coughed up the $7.11 for my order and had the waitress apologize for her.  I certainly wasn’t expecting it, but I really appreciated it!  It’s put a smile on my face for this beautiful Monday morning…and it has adjusted my attitude.

Have a wonderful Monday.

  1. wowzers! that was nice. nothing quite like that has ever happened to me, but when i’m old and wealthy (hey…positive thinking here!!!) i want to pay for a whole family’s meal that i see who reminds me of what WE looked like when we were trying to make it. make sense? It’s a silly fantasy i have…being able to do that for someone.

  2. Sounds tiresome right now. But this will be great to look back on and laugh. Hang in there
