This is my Christmas Newsletter

Dear Friends and Loved Ones,

I apologize for not getting this newsletter out in the mail…life is so busy right now that the thought of getting Christmas Cards out was just too daunting a task.  2007 is coming to a close and I can honestly say that I am hoping for a better 2008!

As I am sure you all know that my Mom passed in March.  Life in her absence has been challenging!  Lots of little things remind me of her daily and my response ranges from laughter to sobs…completely normal I am assured, but that doesn’t make it any easier.  This Christmas season has been especially hard, but my Father’s voice in my head continually reminds me that “this too shall pass”.

Dealing with Mom’s estate continues to be challenging as well.  Thanks to a wonderful lawyer and his right-hand gal, we are plugging along and I hope we are able to get Mom’s house sold quickly and relatively painlessly.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Even through the chaos that has been 2007, we were able to get some vacationing in.  David and I went and spend a week with “Uncle Po” shortly after Mom passed.  It was a great week and a much needed break.  We spent some time walking around the older part of Seattle and took a day trip to Mount Saint Helens.  In June we drove to Brian’s brother’s in North Dakota.  That was an incredible vacation.  It was one of our all-time favorites, believe it or not!  It surprised me!  We are really looking forward to spending two weeks with them next Summer…if they will have us, that is.

David continues to excel in school.  He’s in 3rd grade already and will turn 9 a few days after Christmas.  How can that be?  My little baby, who cuddled in my arms so tightly just yesterday, is almost a decade old???  It’s mind boggling how quickly time passes!  Scary really.  He has a wonderful teacher this year and she has inspired him!  I just love his teacher and how she is able to get the best out of David and his classmates!  She is truly a marvel!

Brian continues to be the rock of Gibralter!  However the “Rock” was felled by a small stone, kidney stone, earlier in the month…but he’s back to his ornery old self.  He’s such a good man and I count myself so blessed to have him as my partner in life.

My Father-in-Law, Pop, has finished the first rounds of his prescribed chemo treatment and now we hope to get him into a world reknown Lymphoma specialist in Arizona to get a second opinion on some inconclusive test results following the chemo treatments.  He, as well as the rest of us, is anxious to know where his cancer treatment stands so we can either breathe a sigh of relief or gear up for the next round of treatment.

As I can conclude this “newsletter”, I just want to thank my friends and loved ones for being there for me this year.  I can’t describe how much your love and support throughout this year has meant to me.  I honestly don’t know how I would have made it without you all.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Blessed 2008!!!!!
