I saw the author, Mark Ukra, on The View one day during the Summer when Whoopi was on a diet. The segment was about dealing with staying on track with weightloss goals. If I recall correctly, one of Whoopi’s challenges was dealing with cravings for sweets…who doesn’t have cravings for sweets?
Mark Ukra has lots of experience blending teas, his family has been importing teas to the US from China for generations. One of the things he highlighted during the View segment was his “Craving Teas”. He swore that these teas tasted like the “real” thing and would cure your craving without all the added calories.
I’ve been hearing and reading for years about the benefits of tea. It’s not something I had ever gotten into. But was really curious to try these “Craving Teas”. I ordered a sampler set of these teas. I also followed the brewing instructions…something I’d never known before.
Tonight, after the boys went to bed, I was ready to try one of the craving teas…I pulled out the one named “Candy Bar”. I opened the bag and WOW did it smell good. I brewed it according to the directions, added a couple of Splenda…and WWOOOWWW! It really did taste like a candy bar. The brewing instructions also said you could steep the bag 3-4 times. I used the same bag 3 times tonight! All 3 cups were phenominal! I’ve got the book, in this post, on hold at the library…I’m going to go pick it up tomorrow and see what else I might be able to find out!
You can find Dr. Tea’s website at www.teagarden.com I highly suggest you check it out!!!
