I’m writing from my newly organized scrapbook room. I haven’t spent much time in my scrapbook room lately because, a) it was a DISASTER, and b) I haven’t been in the mood to deal with it. Well, that all changed recently.
Due to the economic crisis the family is having a “homemade” Christmas. So I needed to get into my scraproom to create the gifts I’ve had in mind…but also because I took a roadtrip with the girls on Friday.
Eileen had come across a Scrapbook USA Expo that was going to be in St. George UT this weekend…well, Friday and Saturday. Taking a roadtrip with the gals to St. George is something we’ve talked about for a few years but had yet to actually do it…we finally did! The expo was great! We didn’t take any classes but there were a ton of manufacturers there that were selling for pennies on the dollar! Basic Grey kits that normally retail for $20 were $3. Fancy Pants had a HUGE booth with chipboard sets for $1, huge paper packs for $5, 12″ acrylic stamp sets for $2.50…ridiculous pricing!!! Plus some of the bigger stores in UT were there selling their stuff too and they had some NICE deals. Like Keeping Memories Alive…they were selling Making Memories new die cutter, The Slice, for the normal retail price but there were throwing in an extra design card ($40 value) and they were selling all their other design cards for $30 ($10 savings). I had to get one once I saw it demoed! It also became my “prize” for cleaning up my scrap room.
Yep…I wouldn’t let myself unpack my goodies from the trip on Friday until my room was done. I got the room almost completely done (working until 4am this morning, thank you very much) but couldn’t wait to get my slice out and play with it. OK…maybe I worked til 3am and played until 4am. I LOVE IT! Lots of interesting application ideas come to mind!!
So my weekend is almost half over (David and Brian both have Monday and Tuesday off too) and I feel that I have gotten quite a bit accomplished…I still have a week’s worth of laundry waiting for me, but I can do that tomorrow. I’m going to keep playing in my scraproom in the meantime.
