Gratitude

I really try to remember to be grateful for all that I have on a daily basis…but somedays it’s harder than others.  Today is a special day, set aside, to do just that.  With that in mind, I post what I am grateful for:

  • My Dear Friends: Susan, Bec, Ann, Eileen, Kristy, Erin, Lynette, Debbie, and Cheryl – I don’t know what I would do without you all.  You all are the kind of friend I could call on at 2am and know you would be there for me…and I for you.  You’ve been there to listen, held me up in grief, dried my tears on those tough days, laughed with me when things went well, laughed at me to remind me that everything passes.  I truly don’t know how I would have survived without you all…and you guys are a hell of a lot cheaper than therapy!
  • My Dear Family: Bri, David, Po, Lynney, Rochell, Gigi, Sonya, Daniellie, and Curley – Talk about a soft place to fall…I always know you guys are just that.  Always there to help, especially with the really big things. The love from you is always unconditional and I hope I succeed in showing that same unconditional love in return.
  • During these time of economic uncertainty I am so thankful to have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food in my stomach, and when all else fails, insurance to help cover everything else.
  • I’m grateful America has seen fit to elect Barack Obama.  He has an incredibly hard road ahead, but I believe he will tackle it with grace and do what is in the Country’s best interest rather than his own.
  • I’m grateful for the little things that keep me going and give me hope every day…a great new book, a new recipe that my family loves, a chat with a friend you’ve been missing, a call from a loved one just because, a stranger’s smile, a good quad venti non-fat with whip half black half white mocha…these little things that always put a smile on my face and little extra pep in my step.
  • Daphne and Scooby – NEVER, in the history of the WORLD, have there been two neater, better dogs.  They bring so much light and joy to my life on a daily basis.  The world would definitely be a much darker place without them in it.

Remember to grateful for the little things as well as the big…they can all add up to a truly wonderful life.

  1. I’d like you to print a retraction on your last point. Cinder and Obi were recently certified as both neater and better. Actually neatest and best, to be specific. They got awards and a press conference. Google it if you need to.

  2. Well said my sweet love!!
