My dear friend, Sylvia, was by yesterday. We signed all the necessary paperwork to list the house. She just called a bit ago to verify a couple of last minute items and then she hit the “enter” button on the MLS listing. EEEKKK!!!
To say that today has been a busy day would be a MAJOR understatement! I’ve been going in 16 different directions and have actually gotten a lot accomplished, surprisingly! I found a bunch of CD’s that I needed to load into iTunes…so I would load a cd, once it was going I would head into the living room to load a box, or arrange furniture, or move laundry between the washer/dryer, or any one of a number of other chores. The Upstairs isn’t perfect yet, but I think the downstairs is the first thing seen and sets the initial impression. Thanfully the phone hasn’t rung, to indicated someone wants to come see the house, yet!
UGH, it’s been 11 years since the last time I went through the house selling experience…and I’d forgotten how much work it was. Plus, the fact that I’ve had 11 years to gather that much more crap than the last time I went through the selling experience (see my scraproom for verification on “crap” or “scrap” collecting). I was going to say the “good thing” is that Brian is in ND so he won’t ever figure out what all I’ve thrown away, sold, or donated…the “bad thing” is that Brian is in ND and I have the full responsibility to get everything done, although David has really been a big help.
On a side note, please continue to pray for those in ND right now. They are pretty much shut down with a blizzard which is going to cause more flooding once the snow stops and the sun comes out to melt all that snowfall. The flooding, I’m afraid, is going to worsen before it gets better.
