Here we all sit, “hunkered down” comes to mind. Brian walked in from work with the news we were under a tornado watch starting at 6:45pm…it was 6:30 when Brian walked in. The National Weather Service was watching a weather pattern that started about 30 miles south of Dickinson outside a town called New England and it was headed directly for Mott.
About that time the air horn that usually signals noon and 6pm started going off and didn’t stop.the dogs were not happy about this!
Honestly, David and I were a little paniced asking “What do we do?” Since it was a first for us. Brian talked us down!! And, as he predicted, the storm loosed it’s energy in the form of wind, rain, and hail…a LOT of wind, rain, and hail! A whole lot better than a funnel cloud, thanks!!
I’m telling ya, it’s been an exciting day here in Mott! It started with a lightning strike on a utility pole across the street, which was another first for me…I’ve never seen a lightning strike something, let alone something 20 feet away from me. And then we topped the day off with a tornado warning…it’s just been a big ole day for me!
Right now, my Minnesota transplanted girlfriend, Cheryl, is laughing her ass off saying to the computer, “Better you than me!”. LOL

This is why you guys should bury the cargo container in the yard. It would make a pretty good tornado shelter/guest room.
Yes, I am! Enjoyed our 5 little rain dumps here yesterday, which lasted a total of 5 minutes each. It was beautiful. And Porter has a good point on the cargo box. You might as well give in to that either way. You will end up with one eventually and they do make good sturdy sheds or guest houses, whichever you are in need of at the time. And you may want to bring a little of the West with you and refer to yours as a Casita. Sounds a little less redneck that way.
