Yep, I’m 39 again! rofl! I said when I “originally” turned 39 that it was my last birthday, and that all others would just be anniversaries of 39!
This 39th birthday ranks way up there! It was a really great birthday…and I have to thank David and Brian for it.
Growing up, my Mom always made a big deal about our birthdays. She baked a cake and made us a meal of our choosing. My cake was always Devil’s Food and my dinner was always Beef Stroganoff…and this always took place on the actual day of our birth.
After marrying Brian and living in Las Vegas with his family, birthdays were a bit different. For many years there were 4 of us in the family who had a birthday between 11/22 and 12/1. For convenience sake, the family generally celebrated all those birthdays on Thanksgiving. It was different from what I was used too, growing up, but it sure made celebrating those birthdays easier.
This year, being in North Dakota, and it being just “us”, it was kind of like being a kid again. Brian wanted to make me a birthday dinner of my choosing. David wanted to make me a birthday breakfast. And I got to choose an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen for my cake. And the boys actually bought me gifts off my wish list instead of the usual gift card to Michaels or Joanns. Oh, and David included the sweetest note in his card to me…talking about what a wonderful Mom and person I am…choked me up! Today was a total blast! I also got tons of cards and well wishes from friends on Facebook…as selfish as it sounds, I enjoyed the day being all about me.
Yep it was a good day…I’m so blessed and thankful for my wonderful family and friends!!!!

Pammie…I am so happy to hear you had a wonderful birthday. It should be all about you after all, it was the day you graced this world with your caring spirit and joyful personality! I’m glad you finally got to celebrate the way YOU wanted to after all the years of compromise. No turkey this time!! I couldn’t be happier for you.
